Gridlords! Chase Scenes! Floating World!

Here's some promo art for something I'm very excited about: The new comics anthology from my friends at Gridlords! Chase Scenes! I drew the cover and end page designs and contributed a 12 page comic. I'll have some original art on display at the release party at too. If you're in Portland, Head to Floating World Comics on March 5th!! This book has some of my favorite cartoonists in it.

Missoula Art Museum

This is the first full week of my exhibition at the Missoula Art Museum. Very thrilled to be working with them. The show is up through June 26th.

Keep Working!

Trying to finish The Understanding Monster, book 3 right now. Feels good to be making comics. Keep drawing, keep drawing!

Missoula Art Museum

Today I installed my show at the Missoula Art Museum. This is a little sample from one of the display cabinets: broken pen nibs and an open sketchbook.

Room Mutation

Thank You!

Tomorrow is the last day of my solo show at Giant Robot! Huge, Huge thanks to everyone who checked out the show. It's an honor to get to show work with such a great gallery and I feel lucky that so many excellent folks came out to my opening and picked up pieces over the last few weeks.

Wolfgang Voigt, Astral Industries

Here's the cover I drew for the second release from the London based ambient record label, Astral Industries. Very excited to have made album art for the legendary Wolfgang Voigt!

Extreme Travel Machine

time lapse space toys

You can see time lapse footage of me working on this piece in the short film "Thought Clouds" that my friends Josh Wagner and Skye Bennett made. You can check it out HERE. They visited me in my studio and documented some of my process while I was finishing pieces for my solo show "Solvers". It's currently on display at Giant Robot in Los Angeles.

It's really fun doing time lapse drawing. I'm hoping to get a timer for my camera soon and do some on my own!

The original piece is still available HERE.

Enigma Trio

This original woodcut from my solo show is still available from Giant Robot. I was really happy with this one. Check it out HERE.

sketchbook doodle

Looking through old sketchbooks, I always find little things that I forgot about.

walk

I love the walk to my studio: mostly along bike trails and through parks. Thinking time. It's good to be back at work in the studio!

Giant Robot Podcast.

I'm featured in the latest Giant Robot Podcast. After a big day at the LA Art Book Fair and a crazy night at the opening reception of my solo show at Giant Robot, Eric Nakamura and I recorded a short interview for the GR podcast. I'm sure I must be slightly incoherent at this point, but it was great fun talking with Eric. He's the best.

Watch a very short film featuring me in my studio!

My friends Josh Wagner and Skye Bennett visited me in my studio a few times while I was working on all of the pieces for my Solo show at Giant Robot. They've made it into a 4 minute film and you can watch it HERE! It's part of a competition of short films about artists in Montana. You can vote if you feel like it. I haven't gotten to watch them all yet, but the ones I've seen so far are great.

Woodcuts gallore!

It's always a crazy and fun process doing a big show like this. I shipped two boxes of pieces ahead of me and arrived with a suitcase and backpack stuffed with the rest. The top picture was taken after I'd unpacked everything and was getting ready to hang the show. You can see the whole show HERE. There's still pieces available.

Original art available!

You can now check out all 73 pieces in my solo show online at the Giant Robot shop. Many of my personal favorites are still available.

Art at Giant Robot

Here's three of the circular pieces hanging on the back wall at the Giant Robot Gallery until the 18th in Los Angeles, CA.

Back from LA!

I had an amazing time in LA. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to opening night of my show at Giant Robot. Above is a big drawing I made in the window of the gallery right next to a drawing by the legendary Katsuya Terada. More artists should be adding to it in the months to come, turning this wall into a giant sketchbook page.
