Facts About Made Up Monsters
9 year old, Asa Smetanka filled an entire notebook with monsters of his own invention, complete with interesting names and startling abilities. A group of artists were asked to do their own interpretations of creatures from Asa's notebook. It was a lot of fun being part of this. Mine's the yellow guy in the orange sweater on the left. It's called a Bengin. It's a good monster but has also been known to choke people. The show opens Fiday the 3rd at The Zootown Arts Community Center in Missoula, MT from 5-7:30 pm. First review
The first review for The Understanding Monster has come in from Re-view Media. I found it both funny and interesting. You can read it HERE. I've never heard the word "weird" used so many times in a review. Just for the record, nothing in these books is weirdness for weirdness sake. It really made me think about how people perceive my work, verses what it personally means to me. It's all pretty fascinating to me. At some point, I'll have to write more in depth about the logic and thought behind this story. In the meantime, it's fun getting to hear what people make of it.

Mystery Mark on the streets
I had a good time at Sunday Parkways yesterday signing copies of the Mystery Mark book in front of Fact and Fiction with my collaborator, Josh Wagner while Jeff Medley and Skye Bennett, dressed as Mark and Clay got up to all kinds of mischief.

Photos from Mystery Mark
The theatrical production of Mystery Mark was put on by Viscosity Theater at the Fringe Festival this past weekend in Missoula, MT. It felt like a huge success! It was so surreal to see the group efforts of these excellent, talented friends come together. This is hopefully just the beginning of some very big ideas we hope to make happen. Stay tuned!
