Kus! Komikss

 Very excited to have a new comic being published as part of the Mini Kus series published by Kus! Comics in Latvia. I've been collecting this series for awhile now and it showcases interesting cartoonists from all over the world. Never would've thought that # 35 in the series would be by me. I had a lot of fun drawing this one and it's the craziest I've ever gotten with my colors. It will be out soon!!

Wolfgang Voigt!

Thrilled that the 2nd release from Astral Industries is finally in print. It's a double vinyl live album from the legendary Wolfgang Voigt. It was really fun getting to do the art for this. Can't wait until my copy comes in the mail.

Cartoon Annual at the Society of Illustrators

New Spirit Animal

 I finally have a new woodcut up for sale on my Etsy Shop

 I'm working on new woodcut pieces again. This top photo is a piece that will be in a group show that opens the first Thursday of August at Pony Club Gallery in Portland, OR. The bottom photo is a tiny detail from a book of narrative drawings I've been slowly working on called Ghost Medicine. I'm hoping to finally have it printed by the end of next month!

Summer Made Fair

I'll be selling my work at the Summer Made Fair today (Sunday the 28th) from 10-5 at Caras Park in Missoula, MT.  It's going to be a hot day, but hopefully lots of good people come out for it.

Missoula Art Museum

There's only a few days left of my exhibition at the Missoula Art Museum. It was nice of them to have me!

Honolulu Museum of Art

I have two pieces in a big show at the Honolulu Museum of art right now. It was curated by Eric Nakamura, owner of the Los Angeles Gallery, Giant Robot. Wish I could see it in person. It's exciting to show my work alongside so many talented people.

I recently pulled these from a stack of drawings I'd started and forgotten about. I'm going to finish them for some upcoming publications. It's always fun to return to something I felt stuck on and suddenly know what to do with it.

natural growth

I keep a big piece of thick paper taped down on the surface of my drawing table and it slowly fills with marks and spills over time. This one's been with my for awhile.

New Print!

 I'm excited to have this giant new silk screen print available from MT Home Arts in Brooklyn. I hand drew everything on layers of transparency and they printed it all. I'm in the middle of drawing a wordless comic for Kus Komikss in Latvia. I'm incredibly excited to be working with them again and honored that I get to be part of their Mini Kus series.

I finished book three the other night. I feel so relieved! Now to catch up on everything else I'm behind on.

Note to self

I've been working hard to finish The Understanding Monster, book 3. This story has been such a huge and complicated experience to tackle. both satisfying and challenging beyond reason. I feel like I'll be in a whole new place with my art when it's finally complete. Gotta keep working.

Wild Walk Parade poster!

I was asked to design the poster fro the Wild Walk Parade this year. This parade is always super entertaining, with lots of crazy home made costumes. It kicks off the Wildlife Film Festival every year, here in Missoula, MT.

Shirt design for the Missoula Art Museum

I was excited that the MAM wanted to make a shirt to go along with my exhibition. My friends over at Garage Ts did a great job printing them.

Slideshow talk

I'm doing a slideshow talk at the Missoula Art Museum on Friday, April 3rd at 7pm. I'll be showing a lot of new work that no one has seen yet. It's the official opening reception for my exhibition there. Should be a fun night!

Workshop

I taught an art workshop for teens a few weeks ago at the Missoula Art Museum. I almost panicked when there were twice as many kids as I expected. They were awesome though. It was fun to see them dive in and make something.
