late night drawing
I've been slowly drawing a couple of stream of conscious comics. I only work on them late at night, right before bed. This is a page from one of them. I fold heavy weight paper into a 32 page booklet, and draw in straight pen. When they're done, I'll self publish them exactly as they were drawn. It's a fun exercise and it's really freeing. You really have to trust your drawings and let them have their way.

drawing little people in books
Every book and zine sold through my Etsy Shop gets a little original character drawn inside. It's a fun drawing exercise and I feel like it keeps things personal.

Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey
More very tiny sneak peaks from The Understanding Monster, book 2. I'm about to go into hyper-focus mode on this and try to finally bring this thing to completion. It's taken way longer than anticipated to finish, but it's been an incredibly valuable process for me. More soon!

Tiny pieces of larger things
The top image is a small detail from one of the largest and most detailed woodcuts I've ever made. I'll show the whole thing when it's done. The second image is some pine trees with legs from a large scale comics page I made for anthology that's coming out early next year. I'll show the whole thing once it's seen print!

Ghost Goggles at the Ridiculous Show
The Ridiculous Show opens tonight at the Voncommon in Missoula, Montana (127 East Main, Suite 316, 3rd floor) . It's a show that "celebrates hypothetical patents, ridiculous inventions, outrageous concepts, and whimsical improvements using the creative process to create the impossible..." There's going to be art installations, readings, and performances all evening.
I wanted to do something crazy for this show really bad but I've been in deadline mode and didn't think I could pull it off. Then I realized that the Ghost Goggles I made a couple of years ago would be perfect, so I made this little advertisement to go with them and got them to the gallery just in time. Ridiculous!!
